What I really loved about India (I was there in 2016), and then Cambodia (last October), is the respect that ritual is given by almost every person. The people embody their beliefs in ritual, and practice these rituals devoutly. I think this is missing from our western culture. I think we could gain a lot from ritual and mindful practice. If nothing else, it would give us some sort of balance in our hectic, often unbalanced lives, and a moment to sit or be, in peace.
I had a phenomenal 2017. From what I have been reading and hearing, I'm in a minority. It wasn't a perfect year, but it was very balanced. The good enabled and empowered me to keep a fairly balanced perception throughout the year (for the most part - I am still human - mostly lol).
Something I wanted to enact upon my return from India was to establish some rituals. This did not happen during 2017. Well, I did perform some rituals, but not regularly enough.
As a result, at a minimum, I am going to conduct two rituals every month. I am going to set them in my calendar today so that I have made the commitment to remember. The way I perform them may alter depending on my context and whereabouts each time, but it's a start to embodying ritual within my world.
They are simple rituals.
Each new moon, I will set intentions for the next month and I will plant them in some soil in my kitchen (in a pot obviously). Planting them so that they grow.
Each full moon, on individual small pieces of paper, I will write each thing I want to rid my life of. I will say each one out loud. Instruct it to leave, and carefully burn the piece of paper to release it from my life/being/world.
Simple. Mindful. Reflective.
I am hoping it will inspire spiritual dedication and manifest real change in my life.
I will call on my guides, and invoke Green Tara (for protection), and cleanse my space. I always do this now when I conduct any healing work, for myself and for others.
Simple. Mindful. Reflective.
I think this will be my intention for 2018. I think this is do-able.
Do you have intentions you would like to start? I suggest keeping them simple so that they have a real chance to manifest consistently. As the smaller things happen, move on to bigger intentions. Use this year to revolutionise your life.
Create the life you truly want.
Much love. Happy New Year!
I am currently writing a book about the healing journey. My life has been an ongoing process of, and for, healing. I am at the point now where I am able to believe that the life that I dream to live is being created, by me, every day.
I have learned to trust and to believe and to grow and to breathe. I have worked out what makes me happy, and I feed and nurture my life with those things. I am strong. I am resilient. I am empowered.
It is my life's mission to empower other people to empower their own healing. Of course, I am here to support and nurture that growth. That is my role. It brings me happiness and fulfilment. Healing and empowering others is one of my core values.
In an ideal world, I would not charge for my services, but in this one, they pay my bills. I am working towards earning more than enough so that my services can be offered subsidised or free to those really in need without the means themselves. This is my long term vision and goal. I am nowhere near that yet (unfortunately).
I took 2017 off from my permanent teaching job. I needed to really immerse myself in the healing process after a horrible 2016. It was the best thing I ever did. My eyes are sparkling again and I am loving the life that I am creating. Sometimes, we need to jump, acknowledge the fear, and jump anyway. It doesn't have to be in a massive way, like leaving work or a relationship, or moving country (even though, sometimes, this is required). It can be in small ways, like starting to meditate or run or joining groups or clubs or just meeting new people.
Whatever it is that you need, I will support you. My aim is to post here at least once a month with a different strategy to promote healing and jumping.
I look forward to our journey together ...
